It got to me every town we rode through; every truck parked on the side of the road with kids waving at us from the tailgate. Every shirt that said “Bikers for Babies,” whether it was this years design or one from a few years back. And then there were the custom-made matching shirts “We ride for [name]” like we wore last year, but some with a birthdate and another more final date after it.
It was foggy, which kept the sun from warming the air for most of the ride, but thousands of motorcycles came out and rode 100 miles to raise over $700,000 for March of Dimes at this year’s Bikers for Babies in Kansas City. The weather wasn’t as welcoming for photos this year, but we got a few to commemorate the occasion. We are incredibly thankful for those that donated to March of Dimes through us – we ended up beating last year by a few dollars, raising around $1,300, with just a week’s worth of Facebook posts and a little word of mouth! Behold the power of the Internet.
