I stuck to my guns and went for a 5 mile run today. Considering that I don’t remember the last time I ran (how bad is that when I have a half marathon coming up in T minus 6 weeks?), it felt pretty darn good! It was a gorgeous, partly sunny day but the temperature was mild, and there was no wind to slow me down. I even ran most of it, stopping for only a 1 minute catch-my-breath walk every ten minutes or so. I am very proud (and relieved) that I was able to master that distance, even after so many weeks not running. Hopefully I can keep it up and also add some more mileage to my weekend runs so that the 13.1 miles on October 18 won’t be so much of a shock. I don’t expect to break any records, but I don’t want to be crawling across the finish line either!

Yes Lori, you do still got it going on! I’m going to join you in your 10 lb. quest, only I’m starting at 145. I can post that to your blog, but not mine!
You still got it Lori! I couldn’t even run half a mile without stopping anymore. Good luck with the half marathon.
