“Danza Kuduro” – 18 x 24 inch colorful abstract painting on paper

This piece began in a practice session to teach my first intuitive art class, I set a timer and walked myself through the script and steps I wanted to share with the group. It was a fun exercise to balance between being conscious of my actions and the clock to make sure this would “work”, while also letting myself get lost in the fun that goes with creating. I made it through the hour with some semblance of an art piece, but knew there was more needed to complete this one. A little more time and intuition brought this little dance to life.

“Danza Kuduro” is one of my favorite Latino pop songs. It also has an interesting “translation” story as it doesn’t have a straight translation, with some Spanish, Portuguese, and even African language origins. But it basically means “dance with a hard ass” – it’s a super fun beat and this painting is my abstract visualization of it!

This colorful abstract painting is made with acrylic paint, oil pastels, and acrylic markers on mixed media paper. It is 18″ x 24″ inches and will need matted and framed (frames in gallery photos are for display only).
