I’m more of a country girl that prefers nature, wide open spaces and quiet. But there are certain good vibes you don’t get out there, like the cozy feeling of a rainy cityscape. I remember years ago hanging out in my friend’s downtown Kansas City loft apartment and some days just had that vibe!

This piece started out intuitively, but then I felt the push to make it a city sunset. And then it stalled out for months so I abandoned it for other things. On this rainy morning in the suburbs I came back to it with fresh eyes and inspiration. I love that the city theme came through but in a much more interesting abstract way than I originally intended.
