This fun experiment was my first foray into painting on wood, and I LOVED IT! This abstract painting started with a scrap piece of birch wood from the overland camping trailer my husband was building. The blues and whites combined with the 90’s music I was listening to, and the origin of the wood (built for adventure!) lent themselves nicely to the title.
I loved the smooth texture of painting on the wood compared to painting on canvas, and was pleased to learn there was plenty more scrap wood in the garage for future painting materials! This was masked off to show the raw wood frame, and painted with acrylic paint (including my favorite metallic gold) and some detail with metallic paint pens.
